RailPros is seeking a Junior Signal Designer to assist in the Design, critically review, and perform preliminary check of new and modified complex vital circuitry and application logic programs utilized by the Railroad for Automatic Block Systems, Centralized Traffic Control, Interlockings, Positive Train Control, Cab Signal Systems, and Highway Grade Crossing Warning Systems; thereby, ensuring constant fail-safe operation which provides for the safe and efficient movement of trains.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years supervisory or lead test engineer experience required on an FRA regulated railroad. Familiarity with FRA regulations, CPUC general orders, GCOR rules, and CA MUTCD required.

RailPros is seeking a Signal Designer to provide comprehensive planning, design oversight, and engineering services for FRA regulated rail and light rail control systems as well as design, critically review, and perform preliminary check of new and modified complex vital circuitry and application logic programs utilized by the Railroad for Automatic Block Systems, Centralized Traffic Control, Interlockings, Positive Train Control, Cab Signal Systems, and Highway Grade Crossing Warning Systems; thereby, ensuring constant fail-safe operation which provides for the safe and efficient movement of trains.

Experience: 5 to 10 years. California Civil Engineer license required. Experience managing and designing traffic signals, signing and striping plans and traffic control plans. Experience with rail related projects including rail-interconnected traffic signals desired. Must have excellent communication skills, be comfortable dealing directly with clients, able to write reports and technical memorandums, conduct project meetings and mentor project engineers. Must have ability to manage multiple projects at a single time. Position Location: Irvine, CA

Experience: 3 to 20 years. Proficient in highway grade crossing warning design including four-quadrant gate systems, advanced preemption, microprocessor-based constant warning time devices, wayside signaling including ABS, CTC and Interlocking, both relay logic and Boolean or Ladder logic.
